Corrective Exercise · Coppermine Timonium

Teach your body to move well. For good.

Corrective exercise is simple. We find the habits that work against you. Then we practice better ones — until moving well is just how you move.

$98 an hour with a note from your doctor. $129 without. The first meeting is free.

The method

Moving well is a skill. Skills can be learned.

My work follows the Corrective Exercise approach from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. The idea is simple. Your body gets good at what it practices. If it has practiced slouching, it slouches. So we give it something better to practice.

We practice standing tall and moving well. In every direction life asks for. With weight your body can handle. With good breathing. Do that, over and over, and your body makes it the new normal. You stop thinking about it. It just happens.

  1. We look at how you move now

How you stand. How you walk. How you reach and bend. The spot that aches is often not where the habit lives. So we look at the whole picture.

  2. We wake up the lazy parts

Some muscles work too hard. Others stopped showing up. We calm the busy ones and wake the quiet ones. Standing tall gets easier — because now the right parts are helping.

  3. We practice it in real life moves

Life is not one direction. We practice forward, sideways, and turning. Carrying, climbing, reaching. So the change shows up on your stairs, in your yard, on your trips.

For active adults 55+

Mindful aging training

You do not need a boot camp. You need your body to keep up with your life. The garden. The grandkids. The trip you have been planning. We build the basics that make all of it easier.

What we practice

  • Getting up from the floor and low chairs, with ease
  • Stairs — up and down — without a white-knuckle grip
  • Feeling steadier on your feet
  • Carrying groceries, bags, and grandkids in comfort
  • Standing tall all day, not just in the morning

What it feels like

  • Sessions built for where you are today
  • No shouting. No rushing. No gym-bro stuff.
  • I explain the "why" behind every move
  • Homework that takes minutes, not hours

Healing & getting ready

The next step after therapy

Physical therapy ends. Life keeps going. Many clients come to me after therapy, with their doctor's OK, to keep building on what they gained. Others come before a surgery, because their doctor wants them stronger going in. Either way, we work with your doctor — never around them.

Common starting points

  • Physical therapy just ended, and you want to keep going
  • A surgery is coming, and your doctor wants you stronger first
  • Aches that keep coming back, year after year
  • Desk life: rounded shoulders, tight hips, tired back

How your doctor fits in

  • Your doctor contacts me. We agree on goals and limits.
  • I plan inside their guidance. They get updates when you want.
  • Your rate drops from $129 to $98 an hour

Not sure how to ask? I will give you a one-page summary to hand your doctor at your next visit.

Straight talk

The timeline no one else will give you

You have moved your way for years. Maybe decades. Your body is very good at it. Teaching it a new way takes months of steady practice. Be careful with anyone who promises faster.

WEEK 1 MONTH 6 MONTH 12

Brand new, with no old habits? Often 2 to 3 months. Deep old habits? Six months to a year, or more. Every session moves you forward. None of them are magic.
